Uprooting Qahr

Uprooting Qahr! calls in the heart and the head reconnecting the ties that bind our human experiences – past, present, and future.

From the Colorado Rockies to West Bank and the Deep South, we awaken to the uneven promise of democracy and confront the legacy of colonialism and accelerate life, liberty, and justice for all.

Through film, song, and monologues, this work unpacks the sadness, frustration, anger caused by displacement, dispossession and discrimination while also shining a light of hope towards collective liberation.

Together, we examine how human rights, education, environmental, and policy can oppress and liberate. We also share insights and strategies on how to recognize, repair, and atonement at the individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels of change.

This is a Mukuyu Collective LLC production in partnership with eight15creative, Lopez Wagner Strategies. Climate Justice HIVE serves as our nonprofit partner & fiscal sponsor.

JOIN OUR CREATIVE IMMERSION ON BOULDER THIS FRIDAY, JULY 31st.

Have you attended either an 13 Fires or Uprooting Qahr: Power, Privilege & Paperwork?

Join Climatique for a gathering on July 31st where we will connect with one another, further digest/reflect on what we’ve learned and felt (from 13 Fires and Uprooting Qahr), be creative and make art together and learn more about ways we can support the continuation of these projects (and other projects that are addressing displacement).

This gathering will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Boulder from 5:30-8:30pm!

We will be providing some prompts to invite you all into creating your own artistic creations and sharing them with one another through the form of poetry, drawing, performing a skit, singing, dancing, etc.

Wrapping up the session with organizational and community calls to action as we dismantle systems of oppression while recreating new systems that balance the needs of people and the planet.
