Awaken. Align. Activate

We live in dyamic times that require high stakes decisions with limited resources.  Our Climate & Culture Series integrates personal transformation with collective action.

Rooted in Relationship

Transformation starts in the mirror and moves out from there. Keynotes by our founder and CEO, Taishya Adams, and workshops are designed to heal and strengthen the relationships between and across humans, communities, and stakeholders.  Through cultural competence building, relationship mapping, and collective decision-making, these sessions center storytelling, audience engagement, and actionable strategies and approaches to build climate and cultural resilience.  Focus areas include human relationships with self and others, power, and decision making.

Building the Networked Forest

The goal is to network like mycellium!  Following nature's lead allowed Indigenous people to live on planet earth for thousands of years.  They respected old growth forests and the mighty root systems above and below ground.

Nature has evolved a set of ‘principles’ that allow living beings to follow.  These principles include adaptation, systems-bsed, values-based, life-supporting, and resilient.  These rules also apply to human-led organizations and projects and strengthen sustainability and increased survival during radical change and upheaval. These sessions weave ways of knowing across real life experiences, research, traditional ecological knowledge, and case studies.

Workshops

In addition to serving as a keynote or panelist, our team has designed workshops that can be added or selected individually.  These workshops allow leaders, teams, and departments to crosswalk key takeaways from the talk to the their day to day work. Available workshop components include pre-/post- session planning consultation, talk or presentation, questions/answer session, live streaming & recording, follow up action planning sessions, board/leadership trainings and coaching calls.

Answering the Call

Our signature speeches reflect the challenges and barriers addressed by our clients, partners, and the larger environmental and educational fields.  After decades of speaking engagements, the Collective has designed pathway for an inspiring, activating keynote addresses, workshops, and panel discussions on climate and cultural resilience.

Equity & Environmental Justice in Action - Moving from the I to the We

This signature speech/series uses a personal, introspective, intergenerational approach to reorienting ourselves on an expanded timeline correcting surgical mistruths and omissions. Through a fuller story, we reveal the intergenerational, interconnected thread. I invite others to look in the mirror and ‘still the waters’ to see where intention meets impact. We will also reclaim the legacy and wisdom of elders. We also learn to integrate this wisdom into daily personal and professional commitment to anti-racism, co-conspirators, and world-building.

Audience: Natural resource agencies, foundations, community organizations, and businesses.
Timing: 15-75 minutes.

Embracing Biomimicry - Following Nature's Lead

This workshop invites us to reimagine and recreate approaches to life’s challenges by aligning with nature’s design. This workshop is designed to strengthen the relational and process pathways needed to meet the moment and the mission. We will explore the intersection between human and ecological systems to strengthen impact and resilience. Specifically, we will unpack ‘biomimicry’ – an approach that centers natural design and principles to combat human challenges – and practice its application at each change lever - individual, team, and organizational. Together, let us reinforce mutual dependence and interconnectedness as we confront the polycrisis in our nation and around the world.

Audience: Organizational leaders, designers, researchers, and policymakers.
Timing: 15-75 minutes.

A Woman's Work - The Wise Women Who Shaped Me and the World

In this signature speech/series, Taishya shares her story and the known and unknown women around the world who shaped her and the world. Taishya will share her own identity and cultural journey and how these identities/cultures are formed and reinforced through society's rules of engagement (e.g. policies, practices, protocols). During this dynamic journey, Taishya explores the themes of cognitive dissonance, exceptionalism, deficit-based narratives, resilience, intergenerational interconnectedness, and the rules of engagement.
