Thank you to our hosts, The Middle East Justice Project, for the invitation to offer a public preview of Uprooting Qahr! Power, Privilege, Paperwork at the First Unitarian Society of Denver TOMORROW, May 12th, at 6:30 – 8:30 pm.
Uprooting Qahr! was birthed out of Taishya Adams’ travels to the West Bank where she was asked, “where are your people from?” This call to action, led to a heritage trip to the Deep South of Alabama where the interconnections between oppression and liberation were revealed. We are one species, on one planet, with one shared destiny.
As the human rights crisis expands, we are honored to parter with the Middle East Justice project to raise awareness of the shared struggles and the opportunities for collective action.
The Middle East Justice Project was formed in January 2024 with the goal of raising awareness of the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the human rights crisis in Occupied Palestine through educational opportunities and community-building events.
In the past 2 years, MEJP has organized over 50 events, including vigils, interfaith services, classes, panel discussions, cultural events, film screenings, poetry readings, guest speakers, workshops, and community conversations. Join us tomorrow and again on May 19th as we learn, unlearn, relearn, and activate towards a dream rooting in liberty and justice for all.
